TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1 Chiang Mai City Tour
Get prepared for an early start on day one, as we'll need to get out into the city early to catch the monks on their alms rounds. You'll be able to observe the lively city of Chiang Mai at this early hour as the locals go about their morning routines. You will be able to offer alms (food offerings) to the monks as they go about their morning alms round, amidst the busyness of the morning market. The morning tour will continue with a meandering drive up the mountain to Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai's most iconic and important temple. You have a much more calm and cool visit to this magnificent temple in the morning because you will avoid the tourist crowds and the heat later in the day. Following the temple, you will descend the mountain and be served a traditional breakfast. We'll visit a couple more of the city's interesting temples after breakfast. On Wualai Rd, you will see Wat Srisuphan, which is located in the center of the silver-making district and is itself adorned by embossed silver and then on to Wat Chedi Luang, which was previously Chiang Mai's tallest structure before the modern buildings of Chiang Mai were built. Our final stop of the day will be at Warorot Market, where we'll get a firsthand look at one of the city's historical and important commercial locations where locals flock to buy fresh and dried foods of all kinds. After the market, we can arrange for you to be returned to your hotel.

Day 2 - Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai
On the second day, you will be picked up from your Chiang Mai hotel and driven to Chiang Dao, where we will stop to see the Chiang Dao cave system. We'll go on a unique lamp-lit tour of the cave's deep and darkest chambers. Then we'll go to the multi-tiered Thaton Temple, which offers views of the Myanmar jungle as well as the Mae Kok river basin, which leads to Chiang Rai. Before boarding the bus to proceed to Karen Long Neck village, a delicious buffet lunch will be served on the banks of the Mae Kok River. We'll then continue up into the highlands, stopping first at an Akha village and then at the Chinese community at Doi Mae Salong, where the air is cool and you can witness tea being cultivated and visit the mountain top. We will arrive at your Chiang Rai hotel in the evening, and you will have the opportunity to freshen up before going to the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, which is a nice spot to go craft shopping as well as sample some traditional Thai food while watching the shows.
