5-Day Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai Discovery Tour

Experience Northern Thailand’s most stunning temples, mountains, and cultural treasures in this immersive 5-day journey through Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

Day 1 – Wat Umong & Doi Suthep Temple at Night

Your adventure begins with an evening pickup from your Chiang Mai hotel before heading toward the scenic Doi Pui mountain. Nestled in a tranquil forest at its base lies Wat Umong, a 700-year-old temple famed for its ancient underground tunnels, peaceful surroundings, and towering chedi. Visiting during twilight enhances the temple’s mystical charm, as soft light filters through the trees and quiet fills the air.
Nearby, explore a field of timeworn Buddha statues before continuing to Chiang Mai’s most iconic landmark — Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Visiting at night offers a serene experience free from crowds, and the glittering city lights below create a breathtaking view.

Day 2 – Doi Inthanon National Park Tour

Today’s journey takes you to the “Roof of Thailand” — Doi Inthanon National Park, home to the country’s highest peak. Enjoy cool mountain air and sweeping panoramas as you ascend through lush forests and cascading waterfalls.
Along the way, visit Wachiritharn and Siritharn Waterfalls, explore a Hmong hill tribe market selling local produce, and admire the twin King and Queen Chedis, offering spectacular views across the park.
At the summit, walk the Angkha Nature Trail to discover rare flora and moss-covered trees unique to this high-altitude environment. On the way back down, stop at a Karen village to experience the simple beauty of mountain life before returning to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon.

Day 3 – Chiang Rai Temples & Singha Park Tour

Depart Chiang Mai in the morning for a scenic drive to Chiang Rai Province. Your first stop is at the Mae Kha Jan Hot Springs, where you can enjoy a coffee and even boil eggs in the steaming mineral waters.
Continue to the world-famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) — a dazzling all-white masterpiece that sparkles in the sunlight and represents purity and enlightenment.
Next, visit the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), where deep blue tones and intricate murals create a striking, modern contrast to traditional temple design.
You’ll then explore Wat Huay Pla Kang, a magnificent complex featuring a towering white Buddha statue, a nine-story pagoda, and sweeping valley views.
After lunch, unwind at Singha Park, a vast countryside estate with tea plantations, flower gardens, and a small petting zoo — a perfect end to your Chiang Rai adventure before returning to Chiang Mai.

Day 4 – Elephant Care & Jungle Trekking Adventure

Get ready for a day of nature and adventure in the Mae Wang region, about an hour outside Chiang Mai. After a brief stop at a local market for refreshments, visit an ethical elephant camp where you’ll spend a few memorable hours feeding, bathing, and playing with the elephants in a natural setting.
Next, enjoy a bamboo rafting experience along a tranquil jungle river, gliding past lush greenery and rural riverside scenes.
After a hearty lunch, embark on a three-hour trek through rice paddies and forest trails, visiting two scenic waterfalls — one perfect for swimming year-round. Bring your swimsuit and a sense of adventure! Expect to return to Chiang Mai around 6:00 p.m.

Day 5 – Thai Cooking Class at Asia Scenic School

Conclude your Northern Thailand journey by mastering the art of authentic Thai cooking at the renowned Asia Scenic Thai Cooking School. Begin with a visit to a local market to select the freshest ingredients before returning to the kitchen to prepare traditional Thai dishes of your choice.
