The full-day Elephant Jungle Sanctuary experience will allow you plenty of time to enjoy and bond with the elephants residing at this sanctuary nestled in a valley in the Mae Wang area.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
The pick-up begins at 8:00 a.m. in Chiang Mai, and you will be driven out of the city for about 30 minutes before turning off the main highway and heading towards the Mae Wang hills and mountains. The drive to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in the river valley would take another 40 minutes. The session will begin with an introduction to the Asian elephant and some background information about the sanctuary's elephants. Following that, it'll be time to meet the elephants! The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary's elephant meeting session is quite informal, and you can feed, socialize, and get up close and personal with all of the elephants. It will be your time to eat after the elephants have been fed, and a buffet meal will be provided. After lunch, you'll learn how to prepare herbal elephant remedies (which you can feed to them later) and then It'll be time to walk them to their mud pit. Nothing makes the elephants happier than rolling about in their mud pit (except perhaps eating), and don't feel left out! You are welcome to join them in their mud bath and get muddy with them. The elephants will be bathed in the river as the next activity. The elephants will require little persuading to enter the water because they enjoy their daily wash. You may also participate by scrubbing them in the stream. It will now be late afternoon, and it will be time to say your goodbyes to the elephants before changing and boarding the transport back to Chiang Mai.
