TOUR DESCRIPTION
We'll need an early wake-up call since we'll be out with the city monks on their early morning alms rounds! Our local guide will pick you up from your accommodation and take you the short distance to the local market, where we will purchase appropriate alms items for the monks. After that, we'll head to the old part of town, where you may participate in the alms offerings. The monks rely on alms for their basic food requirements, and the alms giver receives a blessing from the monk in exchange. We will visit Wat Sri Suphan after the early morning alms offering. This temple, located in the silversmithing district just south of the old city, has been decorated with embossed silver decorations made by local artists in the area. Following Wat Sri Suphan, it'll be time for a traditional Thai breakfast! Your morning transportation will be whatever is available locally (mainly tuk-tuk and songtaew), but be prepared to walk a bit as we navigate around the old city. There will be a couple more temple visits. Your guide will take you to Wat Phra Singh, the most notable old city temple, which is usually teeming with locals paying their respects to one of the numerous Buddha images housed in the temple's many structures. Then we'll visit Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Mai's biggest Chedi and once the city's highest structure. Following the temples, we will proceed to the local market, where you can sample some local street food and see the city's busiest and largest fresh and dry foods market. Around 12:00 p.m., the trip will conclude, and we will transport you back to your hotel.

QUICK FACTS
This is a special tour where you will experience Chiang Mai like a local and use of Chiang Mai's public transport system. No minibus or car will be provided. We will make use of what is available in the area and could include tuk-tuks or the red truck public bus service. Also, be prepared for some walking as we will also cover some of the shorter distances by foot. Our guide will be escorting you every step of the way and will meet you at your hotel at the start of the tour.
Please wear a shirt which covers the shoulders and reaches the waist (a t-shirt will be fine!) For legwear, at least knee-length shorts or skirts should be worn.
