This mini trek in the Mae Wang region will provide you with an enjoyable day of activities. This is a fantastic option for people who want to combine some walking with some time spent with elephants.
TOUR DESCRIPTION
We'll pick you up from your Chiang Mai hotel and head out of town, up into the Mae Wang hills.The elephant camp will be our first destination, where you will spend an hour with the elephants. You will be able to feed and bathe the elephants in the river. We will then drive to a Karen community where you may spend some time exploring before beginning our walk through the rice paddies and forest to Mae Wang Waterfall, which will take around 1.5 hours. If the conditions allow, you are welcome to swim in the waters at the base of these falls. After lunch, It will be time to travel on the river riding basic bamboo rafts, be prepared to get wet as the bamboo rafts make their passage down the river. You will be picked up by the waiting bus and taken back to Chiang Mai at the end of the rafting.
*Note: The Karen village on this tour is the Karen ethnic group and not the Karen Long Neck group.
